Tropical Green Smoothie

Pineapple isloaded with the enzyme bromelain, which decreases inflammation. Coconut oil, which adds a lovely creaminess and taste to your smoothie, is full of medium chain triglycerides, which raise your thermal temperature and can be quickly processed by your body for energy. Finally, a handful or two of spinach or kale in any smoothie will increase its nutritional profile by adding calcium, chlorophyll and vitamin K.
INGREDIENTS
½ cup diced frozen pineapple
½ cup diced frozen mango
1-2 T coconut oil
1 ripe banana
1-2 handfuls of spinach
½ cup coconut milk
1-2 T raw agave nectar
1 T ground flax or chia seed

Purple Berry Smoothie

This is the most basic of smoothies—make it for breakfast or lunch, or tote to work for a midday snack.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup berries (any combination of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, red grapes or blueberries)
1 ripe banana plus 8 ice cubes (or one frozen banana)
1 cup almond, hemp, rice or coconut milk
1-2 T agave nectar
1 T ground flaxseed
1 handful of spinach (optional)

Orange-Vanilla “Creamsicle” Recovery Smoothie

Oranges contain vitamin C, which helps decrease inflammation. Lucuma powder, which has a smooth and creamy flavor, helps in healing, tissue regeneration, skin aging and inflammation reduction. Marrying orange and vanillagivesthis smoothie a tasty balance of flavors.
INGREDIENTS
8 oz milk or milk substitute
4 oz orange juice (freshly squeezed if possible)
1 tsp orange zest (grate rind of orange with grater or microplane)
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp lucuma powder (can be purchased at health food stores)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I recommend the AdvoCare Vanilla Protein Powder, which has 24 grams of protein

1/2 cup of Almond Milk
1/2 scoop of ice

Mango Sorbet

1- mango
1- banana
1- T Karo
1/2 cup cream or lactaid

Cut mango and peel so you create 2 bowls

Blend all together with 2 scoops of ice.

Did not think that it was going to be so good as I did not take any pictures.

This was a request of Cal and it will be a mainstay for some time to come.

Mango and Grape

Today's smoothie include Mango and Globe Grapes and
Kefir
Chia
Banana
1/2 Apple
Orange
Strawberries
Spinach
Broccoli
Cabbage
Carrot
Vanilla extract
Ice
Water

The grapes have a ton of juice in them. Can cut way back on the other added liquid.

Also mangos thicken up like bananas so be careful.

6 Strawberries plus about 10 tops
Vanilla extract
Kefir
Motts for tots

Made 4 servings -  and my estimate is that it cost about $4.00 total.

Thursday's Breakfast

2 bananas
Orange
Apple
Handful of spinach
Whole carrot
Brussels sprout
Slice of pineapple
2" squash
Kefir - about 1/2 cup
Orange juice - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Scoop of ice
4 strawberries
20 strawberry tops- made a fruit salad with chopped up strawberries and used the leafy top for the smoothie.
1 T Chia seeds - needed some organic energy this morning.

The Ultimate Breakfast Smoothie

small amount of Welch's white grape raspberry concentrate (or your favorite juice) for flavor
1/4 of peeled banana
1/4 of peeled orange (keep as much of white pith as possible)
1/2 slice peeled pineapple
1/4 of apple (stems, seeds, core and all)
small handful of spinach
3/4 baby carrots
slice of squash
slice of zucchini
slice of cucumber
4-5 frozen strawberries
4-5 frozen peaches
1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
few pieces of ice
options:  add slice of red bell pepper, cilantro, oats, agave or honey, etc., etc....
1. Fill Vitamix container with all ingredients in the order they are listed.
2. Start Vitamix machine on "Variable" 1 setting, quickly turn to 10 and then flip switch to "High" setting.
3. Use tamper to push ingredients down on the blade.
4. For a very smooth texture, run it at least 30 - 40 seconds looking for shiny smooth texture on surface of smoothie while it is running.

Chocolate shake

3 scoops of ice cream
1/2 cup Vanilla Almond Milk
little chocolate syrup
banana
